General Emergency Questions
What counts as a veterinary emergency?
Emergencies include difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, trauma (hit by car), poisoning, sudden paralysis, severe vomiting/diarrhea, bloated abdomen, inability to urinate, and extreme pain or distress.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed. Patients are seen based on medical urgency, not arrival time.
How long will the wait be?
Wait times vary depending on the severity of cases being treated. Critical patients are always seen first.
Are you open 24/7?
Weeknights we are open 6 pm to 8 am. We are open 24/7 every weekend and holiday.
Arrival & Triage
What happens when I arrive?
A technician will triage your pet to assess urgency. Critical patients are taken immediately to the treatment area.
Can I stay with my pet?
In most cases, pets are treated in the back for faster and safer care. A doctor will update you as soon as possible.
Should I bring anything with me?
Please bring any medications your pet is taking, medical records if available, and proof of rabies vaccination if you have it.
Cost & Payment
How much will it cost?
Emergency care varies widely depending on diagnostics and treatment needed. An exam fee of $99 applies, and the team will provide a treatment plan before proceeding whenever possible.
Do you require payment up front?
Yes, payment is required at the time services are provided.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all credit and debit cards, CareCredit, Scratchpay, Cash, Cherry.
Medical Questions
Can you tell me what’s wrong over the phone?
We cannot diagnose over the phone. If you’re unsure, it’s always safest to bring your pet in for evaluation.
My pet ate something toxic—what should I do?
Bring your pet in immediately. If known, bring the packaging or substance ingested.
My pet was hit by a car but seems okay—do I still need to come in?
Yes. Internal injuries may not be immediately visible and can be life-threatening.
Euthanasia & End-of-Life
Do you offer emergency euthanasia?
Yes. Our team will discuss options compassionately and guide you through the process.
Can family be present?
Yes, whenever possible, we encourage and allow family members to be present.
Do you offer cremation services?
Yes, we partner with a company called Peaceful Waters Aquamation.
Aftercare & Follow-Up
Will my regular veterinarian be updated?
Yes, with your permission, records are sent to your primary veterinarian.
Will my pet need to stay overnight?
Some cases require hospitalization. The doctor will discuss this with you.
