Meet The Team

Dr. Alexa Jurak
Dr. Alexa Jurak is a native of Montreal, Canada, and moved to Florida at a young age. She grew up deeply involved in competitive equestrian sports, excelling in the Jumper circuit. While she had the opportunity to compete at the Grand Prix level, Dr. Jurak ultimately chose to pursue her lifelong passion for animal science.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Elon University and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University in the Cayman Islands in 2013. During her clinical rotations, Dr. Jurak discovered her love for working with companion animals.
Dr. Jurak has been practicing emergency medicine since 2019, bringing a strong work ethic and clinical interests in internal medicine, dermatology, and surgery. After years of sharing a vision with Megan to create something truly special, that vision became a reality in December 2025 with the founding of WAG Animal ER.
Together, they set out to bring a privately owned, family-oriented approach back to emergency veterinary medicine. WAG Animal ER is built on the belief that high-quality emergency care should also be compassionate, personalized, and accessible. The team takes pride in offering affordable, customized care to pets and the families who love them.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jurak enjoys riding her horses, ballroom dancing, spending time with her many dogs (especially her French Bulldogs), raising her son, and traveling.

Megan Brammer, RVT, CVPM
Megan Brammer, RVT, CVPM, has dedicated over 22 years to emergency veterinary medicine. Growing up in a veterinary hospital, Megan developed an early passion for emergency care under the guidance of her father, Dr. Michael Wishnack, whose dedication and mentorship shaped the foundation of her career.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, Megan brings extensive hands-on clinical experience along with strong leadership and operational expertise. Her deep understanding of emergency medicine has driven her commitment to creating a supportive, efficient, and compassionate environment for both patients and team members.
Megan is a co-founder of WAG Animal ER, which stands for Wishnack Animal Group—a heartfelt tribute to her father, who taught her everything she knows and inspired her lifelong commitment to emergency veterinary medicine. Together with her partner, Dr. Alexa Jurak, they envisioned a privately owned emergency hospital that restores a family-centered approach to emergency care, while providing high-quality, accessible, and customized treatment to the community.
When she’s not at work, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children, and their (cough cough) four dogs. She can often be found at the beach or relaxing with family and friends.
